The star of Al Ittihad Club to attend the final of Australian Open Tennis Tournament after winning Kia Al-Jabr Championship

RIYADH: Saudi tennis star, Al Ittihad club's player, Saud Al-Haqbani won the fourth edition of Kia Al-Jabr Open Tennis Tournament in Riyadh city.

 After a strong run in the qualifications stage of the tournament, which began last Thursday with the participation of more than 40 players from different cities in the Kingdom and hosted by Saudi Tennis Federation courts in Malaz in Riyadh, Al-Haqbani managed to beat Al-Salam Club's player, Hassan Al-Zahir, with a score of two unanswered groups in the final which witnessed the presence of the Chairman of the Saudi Tennis Federation, Mr. Mohammed Al Ajaji, who in turn, besides the Director of the Central Region in Al-Jabr Trading Company, Mr. Hussein Al-Qahtani offered the prizes to the winners in both categories of adult and under 16 years old, whereby Qasim Al Obaidan from Al-Moheet Club won the title of the Young Players Category and the prize offered by Kia Al-Jabr company after winning the final game against Mohamed Al-Jaziri, the player of Al-Ghari Club, who scored two unanswered groups.

Al-Ittihad wining player Saud Al-Haqbani expressed his happiness to achieve the title of Kia Al-Jabr Open Tennis Championship (the Road to Australia) to attend and be a guest of a world championship such as the Australian Open Tennis Tournament which is one of the major tennis tournaments in the world, and be able to follow the stars of tennis players and meet with the Ambassador of Kia Motors famous Spanish player Rafael Nadal. As he thanked his family, the management of his club, the two administrative bodies and officials of the Saudi Tennis Federation (STF) for their attention and follow-up.

However, the General Manager of Al-Jabr Trading Company, Mr. Hussein Al-Qahtani, congratulated Saud Al-Haqbani for winning the Kia Al-Jabr Open Tennis Championship (the Road to Australia), wishing him a happy trip to one of the most important tennis tournaments (the Australian Open Tennis Tournament), praising the great efforts made by the Saudi Tennis Federation towards the success of the tournament, which was reflected in the high-level of the participants and matches that were characterized by tough and equal skills of players.

He pointed out that the sponsorship of Kia Motors for the Australian Open Tennis Tournament gives them the right to attract players from different countries to be guests of the tournament after the establishment of local tournaments organized by the company's dealers in those countries, as happened in this tournament, which is considered the extension of the three previous tournaments.

Al-Qahtani stressed that Al-Jabr Trading Company care towards sports events comes as part of its social responsibility, whereas the tennis tournament is one of many activities that the company is keen to establish periodically to enhance youth and sports of the country.
